Diabetic Recipe: Apple Crisp
This recipe from the American Diabetes Association makes 7 servings
Ingredients
- 5 medium sized apples (peeled and sliced)
- ¼ cup packed brown sugar
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats
- 2 tablespoon margarine
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375° F. Coat a baking pan with cooking spray.
In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, oats, margarine, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Blend with a fork until moistened (mixture should be crumbly).
Layer apples in a pan and sprinkle the brown sugar mixture evenly over the top. Bake 30 minutes.
