Course Overview

In this web-based program hosted by The Center for Integrated Primary Care where physicians will be introduced to Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) and Clinical Management.

This two-hour training is designed to provide physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants with the knowledge needed to prescribe Medications for the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD).  Recently, federal regulatory training requirements associated with this work were repealed.  Clinicians no longer require 8-24 hours of training before they are permitted to prescribe buprenorphine (Suboxone).  However, many clinicians would still benefit from an introduction to the practical information needed to initiate or continue MOUD.  This two-hour training has been previously reviewed by the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and was developed as part of a larger 8-hour training that has been deployed in UGME and GME at UMass.
