Parkinson's Disease educational event series

This educational event series was made as part of a study funded by the Michael J. Fox Foundation titled, Fostering Inclusivity in Research Engagement for Underrepresented Populations in Parkinson’s Disease (FIRE-UP PD). One of the aims of the study is to address the knowledge gaps in Parkinson’s disease (PD) and PD research of underrepresented groups, particularly the Hispanic/Latino population. We are trying to achieve that by holding the event series that is detailed in the flyers below.

For reference, each event consists of two parts: the first part is a presentation about a certain Parkinson’s disease topic, and the second part is a “Question & Answer” session, during which attendees can ask the presenter questions. Each event is about 1.5 to 2 hours long, but attendees can leave at any time. Also, everyone is encouraged to attend these events; attendees do not have to be Hispanic/Latino or speak Spanish, but that is our target population.

If you have any questions regarding our education event or the clinical trial, please send your response to: christina.manxhari@umassmed.edu.
