Teaching of Tomorrow Conferences
Teaching of Tomorrow is a nationally recognized and highly acclaimed interprofessional faculty development program. For a group of selected nurse educators and preceptors, we offer a $2,000 stipend and support to attend Teaching of Tomorrow. Apply Now to the Nursing Preceptor Academy! To receive the stipend, you must apply and agree to the following:
- Attend all four days of the Teaching of Tomorrow conference
- Participate in evaluation sessions at the end of each weekend
- Precept a minimum of two students/new hires during the period
- Participate in two surveys during the first year of participation and a follow-up survey
- Attend at least two Preceptor Skills Webinars
About the Teaching of Tomorrow Conferences:
A total of 4 days of training: two 2-day in-person conferences, beginning Friday morning and ending Saturday afternoon. Attendance is required at both sessions.
Topics include:
- Characteristics of good teachers
- Conducting needs assessments
- Writing and implementing learning objectives
- Effective and efficient teaching methods
- Feedback and evaluation
- Challenging educational interactions
The learning sessions alternate between large-group didactics and small-group discussions, where participants have the opportunity to practice new teaching skills, using case studies and problem-based learning.
Dates:
- Session 1 - November 17-18, 2023
- Session 2 - March 8-9, 2024
- Attendance is required at both sessions.
