Post Graduate Certificate Admissions Criteria

Admission Criteria (all programs)

  • Undergraduate GPA 3.0 or higher (preferred) 
  • Current Resume/CV
  • Letter(s) of Reference
  • Personal Statement
  • Required course prerequisites
  • All transcripts sent directly to NursingCAS via the application
  • Qualified applicants will interview with faculty
  • GRE's are not required
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results are needed for those applicants whose language of instruction was not English. 
    • Scores above 250 on the computer test or 600 on the paper test or 100 on the internet-based test is recommended.

Prerequisites                        

  • Advanced Pathophysiology
  • Advanced Pharmacology (for the APRN)
  • Advanced Health Assessment (for the APRN)
    • Demonstration and successful completion of head to toe physical exam prior to initial course. Failure of head-to-toe examination will result in repeating Advanced Health Assessment or designated remediation course.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers
    • Each accepted student must provide an active two-year Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certification for Healthcare Providers. We require this hands-on course to be taken through either the American Heart Association OR the American Red Cross. BLS certifications that are submitted from any other entity will not be approved.
    • A BLS Provider course trains healthcare providers to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations, and provide early use of an AED.

Academic History Section of Nursing CAS Transcript/Prerequisite

Enter the following information:  

  • Name of High School attended (you do not need transcripts).
  • List all Colleges that you have attended, even if you only took one course at that College or University.
  • All Official Transcripts must be electronically sent or mailed from the issuing institution’s registrar’s office as outlined in the application, include transcripts for all transfer credits.
  • Transcript submission instructions can be found in the transcript section in NursingCAS.
