Online Post Master's DNP Admission Requirements

Candidates for admission to the Online Post Master's DNP program must address the following minimum criteria: 

GPA Requirement - GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred for all degrees

Education

• Master’s degree in nursing or related health field completed at an accredited institution 
• Unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse 
• May hold a certification as an NP, CNS, CRNA, CNM 

Prerequisites required with a B- or higher: Statistics (no time limit on completion)

Personal Statement (1,000 words) 

• What are your reasons, personal and/or professional, for pursuing a program of study to obtain a DNP degree? (500 words)  
• What are your career plans as an advanced practice nurse with a DNP after graduation and in the future? (500 words)  

References 

Please submit 2 letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your academic abilities and/or professional experience within the last five years.

References may be submitted in any of the following combinations:

• Two professional references
• Two academic references
• One professional and one academic reference 

Academic references should be from a current or former faculty member, instructor, or academic advisor who can speak to your academic performance, potential for graduate study, and readiness for the program.

Professional references should be from a current or former supervisor, manager, or professional colleague who can speak to your experience, competence, leadership, work ethic, dedication, and readiness for graduate-level nursing education.
