Genetic Determinants of Post-traumatic Cerebral Edema

Design: A prospective, single center exploratory study

Funded by: Worcester Foundation (2011) and the UMASS Department of Neurology.

Objectives: To investigate whether there are genetic determinants of post-traumatic edema, in particular, the AQP4 and CACNA1 gene mutation.

Anticipated study duration: 5 years

Anticipated patient enrollment: 20 subjects
