The maintenance team at UMass Chan Medical School is a dedicated group of craftspeople, operating engineers and building management staff who keep our campus in good condition and functioning as intended.
Urgent repairs
We are on call 24-7 to handle urgent maintenance or emergency repairs. If you need to speak with someone immediately about an urgent issue, like a leaking pipe or a burning smell, please call the Operations Console at Ext. 6-3292. If you are calling from a mobile or off-campus phone dial 508-856-3292.
Emergencies
Beginning Wednesday, July 1, 2026 if you are on campus and using a Teams calling device, you must dial 5-5-5 to directly reach UMass Chan Campus Police in case of an emergency. If you dial 9-1-1 after July 1, the call will be answered by Worcester Regional Police Dispatch and then rerouted to the UMass Chan Police.
