Earth Day 2013 Slide Show

UMass Chan Medical School’s annual Earth Day celebration attracted more than 1,000 visitors who enjoyed locally harvested foods, learned about home energy conservation programs, and kicked the tires of several hybrid vehicles on display.

Attendees also donated used clothing and fabric to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of New England, and deposited unwanted electronics for recycling at the Earth Day collection. “Overall, it was another great Earth Day celebration,” said Heather Strom, a research associate in the Department of Surgery and member of the UMass Chan Sustainability Committee who helps coordinate the Earth Day program.
