Resident Research

Gauget

During the Radiology Residency Program, the collaboration between UMass Chan Medical School and UMass Memorial Medical Center offers ample research opportunities and allows residents  to take advantage of the many resources UMass Chan offers. Residents with an interest in academic radiology are particularly encouraged to participate; however, our program also offers residents with little previous research exposure opportunities to become involved.

Potential projects are identified during readout discussions and at more formal weekly departmental and division research meetings. At such meetings, faculty, residents and fellows present potential projects and projects in-progress for comments and/or direction from the group. Residents are provided with two weeks of elective time per year during their second, third and fourth years.

Residents present their research at major national meetings including RSNA, ARRS, ASNR and AUR. Residents are also encouraged to present their work at subspecialty meetings. The department provides financial support for residents to attend any meeting at which the resident is the primary presenter of an oral presentation or educational exhibit.

Publications
