Creating community and advancing qualitative research at UMass Chan

Our Mission

The Qualitative Research Interest Group is a community of qualitative and mixed-methods researchers at UMass Chan Medical School organized to advance high quality, rigorous, and pragmatic qualitative research. We welcome faculty, trainees, students and staff who are engaged or interested in impactful qualitative studies.

Dedicated to improving science through the advancement, promotion, and dissemination of high-quality qualitative research methodologies, we aim to develop and nurture an interdisciplinary collective across the schools, research labs, and clinical departments at UMass Chan.    

Our initial efforts will focus on offering opportunities to share new knowledge through internal and external speakers, foster belonging and connection through online as well as in-person meetings and events, and to promote opportunities for mentoring, consultation, and collaboration.
