Resources

Focused in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, the Program in Innate Immunity has significant infrastructure available for the study of innate immunity. This includes a robust collection of knockout mouse strains and immortalized macrophage cell lines. For our animal studies, we utilize the support of UMass Chan Animal Medicine and as well as available ABSL3 space. Hardware available in the PII includes a state-of-the-art Leica SP8 confocal microscope, as well as an nCounter from Nanostring, for gene expression studies.

In addition, UMass Chan has a number of other core facilities that are regularly used by PII investigators, including robust next-gen sequencing capabilities, crispr design services, transgenic animal services and advanced electron microscopy facilities.
