KarthikBinu Polpaya, research associate, Chan Lim Lab
KarthikBinu Polpaya, research associate III, joins the Chan-Lim Lab with Rigel Chan, PhD, of neurology and Elaine Lim, PhD, or medicine. Mr. Polpaya, originally from Bangalore, Karnataka, India, brings his research focus on elucidating the molecular pathways underlying neurodegenerative diseases, especially Alzheimer’s and Parkinsons. Mr. Polpaya shares, “I aim to use human stem cell and organoid models to recreate disease pathology and identify novel therapeutic targets. Ultimately, I seek to understand how these pathways can be modulated to slow neurocognitive aging and promote healthier lifespan.”
His interest in Neurodegenerative diseases started back in high school due to the devastating consequences it can have to the ailing person and family/friends. Over time, this awarness turned into a scientific pursuit to address the lack of effective treatments. My work here is a commitment to make a meaningful impact on human health.
