Coutney Allard, MS, CCC-SLP
Courtney Allard, MS, CCC-SLP, is a licensed medical speech-language pathologist specializing in treating patients with swallowing, speech, language, cognition, and voice issues. Courtney joins the UMass Movement Disorders Division, Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA), Center of Excellence (COE), a partner site with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC).
Courtney is part of a multi-disciplinary team that supports patients diagnosed with HD by assessing and managing dysphagia, speech, language, and voice disorders. Courtney was inspired to join the medical field after her grandfather was diagnosed with a laryngeal cancer, and she discovered how important the role of the SLP was in prolonging his ability to swallow and talk. Courtney primarily supports patients with dysphagia due to TBI/stroke, respiratory or cardiac conditions, and head and neck cancer. Her clinical interests also include working with patients who have progressive neurological disease, including Parkinson’s and Huntington’s disease.
