The residency program has grown under the leadership of seven directors since 1977, including David Drachman, MD, Randal Long, MD, PhD, David Chad, MD, Ann Mitchell, MD, Johnny Salameh, MD, Raphael Carandang, MD, and under the guidance and leadership of Kate Daniello, MD, since 2020. A dedicated administrative team prioritizes and supports the needs and academic requirements to develop well-educated and prepared physicians.

Kate Daniello, MD, has led the residency program since 2020, and has expanded the program leadership to include Danison Emmerson, MD, and Rakhee Lalla, DO, as co-associate directors supporting the residents in neurology in curriculum support, OSCE evaluations and enhancing our simulation learning. Other track leaders include Dr. Deb and Dr. Peschansky for global and social justice and advocacy, Dr. Lalla and Dr. Berrios in education, and Dr. Smith and Dr. Hemond in research.

David DiMarzio moved into his role as residency program coordinator a year ago, and has done a phenomenal job.
