Massachusetts Arrest Screening Tool for Law Enforcement (MASTLE)
The Law & Psychiatry Program created and validated the MASTLE in collaboration with the Brookline Police Department. It is the only tool of its kind for youth! The Brookline Police Department used the MASTLE successfully to reduce the percentage of youth stopped by policy who were formally arrested.
We are making this tool available to police departments for free in the hope to gather more data for further validation of this tool. If you are interested in obtaining the MASTLE, request it on our Contact Us page.

Adolescent Domestic Battery Typology Tool
The Law & Psychiatry Program and colleagues created the Adolescent Domestic Battery Typology Tool with funding from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. Based on Wendy Nussbaum’s years of clinical experience working with youth charged with battery on a parent and the largest research study of these youth to date, we designed this assessment instrument out of recognition that these youth have very different risk levels and needs.

The Adolescent Domestic Battery Typology Tool is free and available for download. It can assist courts with the assessment of these youth and families and appropriate intervention planning.
