Microbiology
Education: Ph.D. (Biotechnology) from Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, India
Interests: Diptaraj’s research focuses on the gut microbiome–brain axis and its role in cognitive aging and Alzheimer’s disease. His interests include gut microbial ecology, microbiome-associated metabolites, host–microbe interactions, neuroinflammation, and microbial signatures associated with cognitive decline. His research integrates metagenomics, microbiome bioinformatics, multi-omics, metabolomics, single-cell approaches, and experimental animal models to investigate mechanisms linking the gut microbiome with brain health and neurodegenerative disease. In his free time, he enjoys podcasts, visiting parks, and spending time with his 4-year-old daughter. He is also discovering a new hobby-waiting at the kids’ playground while she does all the playing! He also enjoys cooking.
