Blood Pressure Studies

CODA ( Kent Scientific) high throughput non-invasive blood pressure system.

The CODA measures blood pressure in multiple mice or rats simultaneously. Using Volume Pressure Recording (VPR) to measure the blood pressure by determining the tail blood volume. A specially designed pressure transducer and occlusion tail-cuff measures the total blood volume in the tail. The CODA system provides six different blood pressure parameter measurements; heart rate, tail blood flow, tail blood volume, systolic and diastolic blood pressure and the mean pressure. Measurement acquisition can be done on anesthetized or conceous study animals. and can obtain readings on dark-skinned rodents, such as C57BL6 mice.
