Danesh Moazed

Professor of Cell Biology; Harvard Medical School
Danesh Moazed is currently a Professor in the Department of Cell Biology at Harvard Medical School and an Investigator of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.  He received his B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California in Santa Cruz working with Harry F. Noller on the roles of ribosomal RNAs in protein synthesis.  He performed postdoctoral research at the University of California in San Francisco with Patrick O’Farrell and Alexander Johnson.  His group is interested in understanding how genes are silenced and how gene silencing can be stably inherited during cell division and across generations.
