To: All Graduate School of Biomedical Science Students
This year’s flu season is approaching. Listed below are several options if you choose to receive a seasonal flu vaccine:
· Contact your primary care provider’s office or receive at your next visit.
· Visit a pharmacy in the area- There are multiple pharmacies in Worcester and Shrewsbury (within a few miles from campus)
· Visit any grocery store with a pharmacy that offers flu vaccine.
· Through your employer, if offered
Remember to bring your insurance card. Most insurances cover the flu vaccine.
Students receiving the flu vaccine in Massachusetts before December 1st do not need to provide a copy of their flu vaccine to Student Health. Student Health will obtain documentation through the Massachusetts Immunization Information System (MIIS). If you receive a flu vaccine outside of Massachusetts, have opted out of MIIS, or receive your flu vaccine after December 1st, please scan a copy of your documentation to the Student Health e-mail. studenthealth@umassmemorial.org.
