RNATx Family Support Awards
Funds may be applied to the following needs:
- Home-based childcare expenses incurred because of meeting attendance (funds may not be applied to normal ongoing expenses).
- Travel of a relative or other care provider to your home to care for your child(ren) while attending the RNATx 2022 Virtual Meeting.

RNATx 2022 Inclusivity Grant
To support the exploration of RNA therapeutics research to those trainees and early career researchers whom are underrepresented* in the scientific community, we will offer awards to graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and young investigators (within their first 3 years). Since actual travel is not required to attend the meeting, the grants will provide reimbursement of the cost of registration or a registration waiver.
Eligibility:
*Applications must be from populations that have been shown to be underrepresented in biomedical research, such as:
- Underrepresented racial and ethnic groups: African American/Black, Hispanic/Latino, Native American/Alaska Native, or Hawaiian Native/Natives of the U.S. Pacific Islands, or;
- Individuals with disabilities: defined as those with a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, as described in the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, or;
- Individuals from disadvantaged/underserved backgrounds: defined as individuals from an economically disadvantaged background, first generation college graduates, or individuals from challenging social, cultural or educational background, or;
- Identify as a female in the biological workforce

HBCU and Economically Disadvantaged Registration Waiver
To support the exploration of RNA therapeutics research to undergraduates whom are underrepresented in the scientific community, undergraduate students enrolled at an HBCU or are economically disadvantaged can receive a registration waiver to attend RNATx 2022.

TCCI is a nonprofit organization and dedicated to supporting the fields of Brain and Mind. We are launching a science writer fellowship to promote science communication and collaboration. The funding covers travel (if in-person), symposium registration, and an honorarium to write a science report. Candidates should apply below. The fellowship recipient will be selected and receive practical guidance, advice, and mentorship from the conference committee. Deliverables of the fellowship would include a 3-page report.
- Two weeks after the meeting, the Chen Science Writer will provide TCCI with a 2-to-3-page co-authored written report with a high-level description of the conference and several “bullet points” that address the following:
- the discussions/findings the scholar found particularly exciting
- controversies that were discussed
- their view of future issues that need to be addressed
- The report will be prepared by the Chen Scholars with mentorship and consultation by designated members of the organizing Committee.
- The report may not contain information deemed confidential by designated members of the Conference organizing Committee.
