The act of data sharing constitutes a fundamental aspect of open science. To align data-sharing practices with the FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data principles, the BioImage DMS Core aims to render data findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. At the same time, the Core will be mindful of considerations for data representing indigenous or vulnerable communities in line with the CARE (Collective Benefit, Authority to Control, Responsibility, and Ethics) principles. While the Core will aspire to share data extensively, it also recognizes the importance of restricting data appropriately. In line with these principles, we actively seek and advocate for data repositories that exemplify trustworthiness, as delineated in the TRUST (Transparency, Responsibility, User focus, Sustainability, and Technology) principles.
