Academic Advancement Work Group (AAWG)
Following a retreat of approximately 80 academic leaders representing various faculty constituencies on June 18, 2015, Provost Flotte called for the formation of the Academic Advancement Work Group (see AAWG Membership Listing) to review and revise the pathways, criteria and procedures for faculty appointments, promotion and tenure.
The AAWG was charged to:
- review and recommend a definition of scholarship
- review and recommend pathways and criteria for advancement in academic rank
- review and recommend pathways and criteria for the award of tenure and/or other long-term commitments
- review and recommend the definition and guarantees of tenure and/or other long-term commitments.
