Building Brighter Futures with Youth
Each year, UMass Chan partners with UMass Memorial Medical Center on the Building Brighter Futures with Youth (BBFWY) program, a broad-based strategic initiative to help youth transition successfully to adulthood. Essential to its success is the partnership with the Worcester Public Schools and various city agencies and employers who create meaningful job opportunities for city teens. Local high school students in this program have an opportunity to work part-time, summer jobs in research, medical and administrative settings that earn them real world experience and exposure to career options.
