Robert F. McCarron, MD

Dr. McCarron is an experienced member of the Department of Emergency Medicine. He was an integral part of the residency program from its inception serving as a faculty member at the St. Vincent's Hospital. He has been an active faculty member since 1987. Dr. McCarron is a graduate of the UMass Chan Medical School and did his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Vincent Hospital and a Cardiology Fellowship at the UMass Chan Medical School.

Dr. McCarron joined the UMass Memorial staff in January 2006. He is the director of our Clinical Decision Unit. Dr. McCarron is board certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.

His interests include Cardiovascular Emergencies, Observation Medicine, Palliative and End-of-Life Care, Disaster Medicine, Global Emergency Medicine and Accessibility and Coordination of Care.
