In keeping with longstanding UMass Chan Medical School tradition, all classes celebrating reunion honored the occasion by generously donating to their respective class scholarship funds. The T.H. Chan School of Medicine Classes of 1977, 1982, 1987, 1992, 1997, 2002, 2007, 2012 and 2017 collectively donated more than $363,000 for financial aid and to support other needs throughout UMass Chan. In doing so, these reunion classes added to their existing class scholarships.
In addition, several alumni celebrating reunion this year donated generously to new or existing scholarships. From the Class of 1977: Patricia K. Spencer, MD, Nancy E. Judge, MD, and Mary M. Tse, MD. From the Class of 1982: Richard L. Gold, MD, Roderick H. Crocker, Jr., MD, and Nicholas M. Tsanotelis, MD. From the Class of 1997: Peter P. LaCamera, MD. From the Class of 2002: David D. McManus, MD, and Diana K. McManus, MD.
For the first time since 2019, UMass Chan hosted an in-person reunion celebration for the T.H. Chan School of Medicine and the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing (an event is planned for the Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences in early 2023). On May 7, 2022, approximately 230 alumni and guests enjoyed an evening cocktail reception, dinner and dancing at the AC Hotel by Marriott in Worcester, as well as visits with Terence R. Flotte, MD, executive vice chancellor, provost and dean of the T.H. Chan School of Medicine; Anne C. Larkin, MD, vice provost and senior associate dean for educational affairs; and Joan M. Vitello-Cicciu, PhD, dean of the Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing.
The welcome return of this annual event presented alumni with an opportunity to catch up with friends, expand their UMass Chan network, celebrate the Medical School—and have some fun!
