Patient Care
- How to put UpToDate on your phone
- Something patient-related go wrong? Wrong med, staff injury, etc? Here's how to file a patient safety report. You can find it from Epic (under Clinical Resources) or via the Hub if you go to the Safety Event Reporting link at the bottom of the page.
- Prior Authorization and Pharmacy Check: Need help figuring out if a medication will need prior authorization and what it will cost the patient?
- Email the PA center team at rxcenterpacheck@umassmemorial.org
- Include the patient's name, MRN, medication needed (or a couple options so you can compare what they find), and patient preferred phamacy
- The team will email you back within a few hours with information about coverage and cost! Voila!

- Followup Appointment Help: Need help scheduling an inpatient's followup appointments? (must be an inpatient!)
- Send an Epic In-Basket message to "P Inpatient Scheduling Pool"
- Include the patient's name, MRN, Provider(s) whom they need to see, and requested followup date and reason for visit
- Ideally, give them 72H to get it set up, but generally they are ready within 24H!
- List of Specialty Division Emails - use these for non-urgent matters, eg making sure a followup appointment will be scheduled
