Chancellor: You have the power to save lives by supporting 25th UMass Cancer Walk

For 25 years, supporters of the UMass Cancer Walk presented by Harr Toyota have raised more than $16 million for pediatric and adult cancer research at UMass Chan Medical School. The Cancer Walk returns to Polar Park on Sunday, Sept. 24, with a superhero theme.

In a new video, Chancellor Michael F. Collins details how and why the Cancer Walk was created and the importance of faculty, staff, students and friends getting involved by joining or forming a team or making a donation.

“By raising money and taking part in the walk, you have the power to save lives,” Chancellor Collins said. “My appreciation goes out to you for your support of the UMass Cancer Walk over the past 25 years, and for all you do to advance the mission of UMass Chan Medical School. Together, we are changing the course of history of disease. This wouldn’t be possible without your commitment, and for that I am humbled and eternally grateful.”
