A Letter From Our Program Director

Welcome to The UMass Chan Medical School Vascular Neurology Fellowship. Our award-winning UMass Stroke Service is staffed by seven Vascular Neurologists and are deeply committed to basic and clinical research, with core members having authored more than 500 peer-reviewed articles and several books and book chapters.  They serve as investigators on several multi-center clinical trials.

The UMass Memorial Medical Center is a cornerstone for medical care throughout central and western New England. There are more than 800 patients admitted to the UMass Stroke Service annually.  The dedicated Neuro ICU located at the University Campus Lakeside Pavilion has 16 beds and a burn unit.  The 24 bed Neurology Floor features a 4-bed Step-down unit.  We are a certified Primary Stroke Center and have repeatedly been recognized with the highest honor for stroke care by the American Heart Association.
