2023-  Ashley Mitton, PsyD


Ashley is the Director of Behavioral Health at Northern Lights Family Medicine Residency in Bangor, ME. In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of the Behavioral Science Curriculum for the residency training program. She teaches family medicine residents through didactic and experiential approaches. Ashley also works with the residency wellness committee to support the well-being curriculum and wellness initiatives for residents. She also serves on the department research committee, supporting resident and faculty program development, program evaluation, and clinical based research. Within her role, she also provides behavioral health services to patients of the family medicine clinic. Her clinical interests include trauma-informed care, chronic pain management, health behavior change, and chronic disease management.
 

Ashley completed her PsyD at Biola University in La Mirada, California. Her pre-doctoral internship was at Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Santa Rosa, California. During internship, she worked in interdisciplinary teams with patients across the lifespan and received specialized training in addiction medicine. She gained expertise in incorporating humanistic interventions into evidenced-based primary care treatment, women’s health, and supervision and training. She then completed a two-year postdoctoral Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology and Medical Education at UMass Chan Medical School in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health.

 
2022 - Jenna Mullarkey, PsyD
Jenna Mullarkey








Dr. Mullarkey is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School. She teaches in the UMass Chan Worcester Family Medicine Residency on their inpatient family medicine service, teaches doctoring and clinical skills at UMass Chan and maintains a clinical practice at Hahnemann Family Health Center in integrated primary care serving patients across the lifespan.

Dr. Mullarkey received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology with an emphasis in integrated behavioral health. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Nebraska Internship Consortium in Professional Psychology - Munroe-Meyer Institute, in Omaha, Nebraska. She developed extensive experience in integrated behavioral health, with both pediatric and adult patients. Prior to her doctoral work she received a masters degree in applied developmental and educational psychology at Boston College. She is a graduate of the Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology and Medical Education in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.
 
2021 - Sara Pearson, PsyD
Sara Pearson

Dr. Pearson is the behavioral scientist on the core faculty of the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency Program at the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center in Lawrence, Massachusetts. In this role, she is responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of the Behavioral Science Curriculum for the four-year residency training program. She teaches family medicine residents through both didactic and experiential approaches and precepts resident clinic sessions. Dr. Pearson also works with the Residency Wellness Committee to support the wellbeing curriculum and wellness initiatives for residents. Within her role she also provides behavioral health consultation and clinical services to patients of the family medicine clinic. Her clinical interests include providing brief, evidence-based interventions in integrated primary care, delivering patient-centered, trauma-informed care, chronic pain management, behavioral sleep medicine, health behavior change, and chronic disease management.   

Dr. Pearson earned her B.A. in Psychology from Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts  and completed her Psy.D. in clinical psychology at Antioch University New England in Keene, New Hampshire. She completed her predoctoral internship within the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine with a major rotation in Integrated Primary Care, and minor rotations in Bone Marrow Transplant & Oncology and Adult Sleep Medicine. She then completed a two-year postdoctoral Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology and Medical Education at UMass Chan Medical School in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health. 

2020 - Ethan Eisdorfer, PsyD

Dr. Eisdorfer is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.  He teaches within the UMass Chan Worcester Family Medicine Residency Program, supervises psychology trainees, and maintains his clinical practice at the Barre Family Health Center. 

Dr. Eisdorfer received his PsyD in clinical psychology from the Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology.  He completed his predoctoral internship at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System in Austin, Texas where he completed rotations in primary care behavioral health, PTSD, and eating disorders.  He is a graduate of the Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology and Medical Education in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.

2018 - Jennifer Carty, PhD

Dr. Carty is the associate director of behavioral medicine education with McLaren Flint/Michigan State University Family Medicine in her home state of Michigan. In her current role, Dr. Carty provides behavioral science education and training to family medicine residents and psychiatry clerkship students with MSU, is the chair of the FM QI committee, and is actively involved in research and scholarly activity. Additionally, Dr. Carty is a primary supervisor for the MICAPT postdoctoral fellowship in clinical health psychology. Clinically, she treats a wide range of behavioral and mental health conditions within the FM clinic through integrated primary care and individual therapy, as well as supervises and provides services on the Consultation-Liaison service at McLaren Flint.  She is a member of  Div 38, CFHA, and STFM. Her primary professional interests include integrated primary care, medical education, women’s health, chronic pain, and wellness.  

Dr. Carty earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology with a minor in health psychology from Wayne State University in 2016. She completed her pre-doctoral internship in primary care psychology through the University of Colorado School of Medicine Department of Family Medicine. Subsequently, she completed a two-year fellowship furthering her training in primary care psychology and medical education with UMass Chan Medical School Department of Family & Community Medicine.

2018 - Samantha Minski, PsyD

Dr. Minski is a primary care psychologist at Reliant Medical Group.  She is dedicated to providing short and long-term therapy including cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, relaxation training, motivational interviewing and mindfulness strategies.

A graduate of the University of Florida, Dr. Minski is a psychologist who specializes in health psychology and integrated primary care. Following graduation, she completed a two-year fellowship furthering her training in primary care psychology and medical education with the UMass Chan Medical School Department of Family Medicine & Community Health. 

2016 - Molly Igoe, PhD

Dr. Igoe recently moved to Dallas, Texas where she is working in an interdisciplinary group private practice. She specializes in treating adolescents and adults experiencing chronic health conditions and those seeking to make behavioral changes to enhance healthy living.

Dr. Igoe completed her doctorate in clinical psychology at La Salle University in Philadelphia. She completed her internship at the Riverbend Community Mental Health Center in New Hampshire as part of their Integrated Primary Care Adult Track. She completed her postdoctoral training in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.

2014 - Joan Fleishman, PsyD
Joan Fleishman 
Dr. Fleishman is the behavioral health clinical director for Oregon Health and Science University’s Department of Family Medicine leading the expansion of the behavioral health services across six primary care clinics. She has worked closely with other clinical leaders on strategic planning, program development, clinician training, and workflow implementation. Dr. Fleishman has focused her work on practice transformation, population reach, alternative payment methodology, and team-based care. Her research and clinical expertise includes primary care based Medication Assisted Treatment for Opioid Use Disorder (MAT) and trauma informed care in medical settings. She is the program coordinator for OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond’s MAT Program.

Dr. Fleishman completed her graduate training at Pacific University’s School of Professional Psychology with internship training at St. James Hospital – Behavioral Health Service.  She then completed the Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology at UMass Chan Medical School. 

2014 - Jeanna Lee, PhD

Dr. Lee is an assistant professor in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.  She provides patient care and trains medical students and psychology trainees at the Hahnemann Family Health Center.

Dr. Lee received her PhD in clinical psychology from Palo Alto University.  She completed her predoctoral internship at Colorado West Regional Mental Health in Grand Junction.  She is a graduate of the Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.

2012 - James Anderson, PhD
James Anderson
Dr. Anderson is the medical director for a regional collaborative of clinical systems and community agencies working to make system reforms to improve access to care, improve patient outcomes, and reduce unnecessary emergency room admissions as part of New York State’s Medicaid reform efforts under its Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) program.  He is a licensed psychologist at Bassett Health Care Network and delivers care in one of its primary care clinics.  He also supervises other behavioral health clinicians throughout the network as it strives to increase integration across its 31 health centers.  He is invested in helping patients struggling with opioid use disorder and has continued to collaborate with UMass Chan to implement and expand low-threshold access to primary care-based buprenorphine for OUD.  Dr. Anderson previously worked as the director of behavioral science at Hennepin County Medical Center's Family Medicine residency program before accepting his current position in 2015.

Dr. Anderson received his PhD in clinical psychology from Western Michigan University. He completed his predoctoral internship at the University of Alberta Consortium. He is a graduate of the Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.

2012 - Juan Carlos Ramos-Ayes, PsyD

Dr. Ramos-Ayes is the transplant psychologist for the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and holds academic appointments with the Departments of Surgery and Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.  Dr. Ramos-Ayes provides consultation to the solid organ transplant team and provides education and training to the psychiatry and surgery residents from the Harvard Medical School residency programs.  Dr Ramos-Ayes also maintains a private practice in the town of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts where he treats patients with a wide range of behavioral and mental health conditions.  He is also a consultant for medical practices on the integration of behavioral health. He is the former director of behavioral science education for the Lawrence Family Medicine Residency program where he was also the associate director of behavioral health ntegration. 

Dr. Ramos-Ayes received his PsyD in clinical psychology from Ponce School of Medicine where he also completed his an internship in health psychology. He is a graduate of the Fellowship in Primary Care Psychology in the Department of Family Medicine & Community Health at UMass Chan Medical School.
