Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Department Emergency Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School and UMass Memorial Health!

The Department of Emergency Medicine is a large department, staffing five emergency departments and an Urgent Care Center across the health care system. With more than 100 clinical providers, our team serves a variety of patient population providing the full spectrum of clinical care, from high complexity tertiary and quaternary care services, to community and urgent care services.

Our mission is to be one of the preeminent Departments of Emergency Medicine in the country by delivering excellent healthcare, with respect and dignity to all patients needing emergent or urgent care services; conducting groundbreaking research that enhances public health; and developing innovative educational programs for all levels of health care providers.
