Giving Days 2020 reaches new heights
In February 2020, UMass Chan Medical School alumni and parents of School of Medicine students did more than simply step up during the third annual Giving Days campaign to show their support—they exceeded their giving and participation for the third consecutive year.
Overall participation this year was more than 15 percent higher than in 2019, and more than double from the campaign’s first year. Monies donated were nearly 50 percent more than dollars raised in 2019 and were nearly twice as much as were donated in 2018. All told, more than 350 alumni/parent donors raise more than $65,000.
“The support of UMMS alumni and parents of our School of Medicine students in 2020—indeed, in the past three years of the Giving Days campaign—is as inspiring as it is fantastic,” said John Hayes, vice chancellor for advancement. “We are fortunate and extremely grateful to have such dynamic support for the vital programs that provide the best graduate medical and research education to our students.”
Launched in 2018, Giving Days is a two-day opportunity for alumni and parents to give back and support current UMMS students. Gifts made during this campaign support the annual fund, which supports important needs at UMMS.
