CLIMB Workshop Offerings
As a core part of our efforts to advance mentorship across the UMass Chan campus, CLIMB and our group of workshop facilitators offer both full 8-hour initial mentorship training workshops and brief (2-hour or 4-hour) refresher and advanced workshops addressing selected topics for mentors seeking to enhance their skills. Due to the recently-implemented requirement that mentoring faculty in NIH-sponsored training and career development programs (i.e., T32 and K12) receive mentorship training, we are working to increase our capacity so we can to facilitate workshops for all our institution’s mentors who seek this training.
The Curriculum
Our workshops are grounded in the evidence-based Entering Mentoring curriculum, developed by the Center for the Improvement of Mentored Experiences in Research (CIMER) at the University of Wisconsin.

Promoting Professional Independence
Our pedagogical approach is the facilitation of peer learning and discovery. We aim to foster a collaborative learning environment where all participants feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their own experiences, challenges, and identified solutions with others.
