As a board-certified dermatologist and physician-scientist. My career goal is to translate basic research findings into clinical applications that benefit patients with inflammatory skin diseases, particularly vitiligo. I have been recognized for our basic research by the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), received the AAD Marion B. Sulzberger Award for conducting basic science research that has changed the practice of medicine, and was elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation (ASCI). Our research strategy includes a combination of basic, translational, and clinical research approaches aimed at better understanding the underlying mechanisms that drive autoimmunity in vitiligo. With NIH support, we are making significant progress towards developing more effective therapies that improve patient outcomes. By participating in our research study, you will be contributing to the advancement of the field of dermatology and the development of new treatments for patients with inflammatory skin diseases.
