Flu Clinics

This year’s flu season is fast approaching. Student Health has implemented a mandatory flu vaccination reporting program for UMass Chan students, which is required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH). The flu vaccine is mandatory for all clinical students (all medical students) and strongly recommended for non-clinical students. Clinical students must receive the flu vaccine by December 1, 2023.

Student flu clinics will be held October 2 – October 31. Please plan ahead for your appointment and click on the link to schedule: https://outlook.office365.com/owa/calendar/FluShot@umassmemorial.com/bookings/

  • Bring your driver’s license with you. Your school ID will not suffice, as identification requires DOB.
  • Dress accordingly, wear clothing that easily allows access to the deltoid area of the upper arm.
  • If you are at an away rotation or clinical site, you can ask if that site will provide the vaccine.

If you are unable to attend one of the flu clinics or received it at an outside facility, please submit documentation to student health at studenthealth@umassmemorial.org.

Students who have a medical exemption must submit a note annually to Student Health from their provider explaining the reason for the medical contraindication.

Individuals who have concerns about the flu vaccine due to deeply held religious beliefs should contact Matthew Lyford, UMass Chan Human Resources: Matthew.lyford@umassmed.edu

Thank you,
