Inpatient
The consult fellow is responsible for running the inpatient consult service across both the University and Memorial campuses. More often than not, there are rotating students and residents who also contribute to the consult service. One additional responsibility shared with the on-call attending is triaging and seeing urgent outpatient referrals as appropriate.
Outpatient
Fellows have three continuity clinics per week and are the primary rheumatologists for these patients. In the first year, all clinics are held in the Rheumatology clinic on the Memorial campus (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday mornings). Second-year fellows substitute one Memorial clinic every other week for a clinic at the VA Rheumatology clinic based on the University campus (Wednesday mornings). They also participate in the MSK Ultrasound clinic held on Friday afternoons.
In addition, there are a number of shared clinics that fellows can attend. These include:
- Dermatology (with a connective tissue disease focus) - monthly on Tuesday afternoons
- Pulmonary (interstitial lung disease) - monthly on Wednesday afternoons
- Nephrology (glomerulonephritis) - Friday afternoons
- Psoriatic arthritis clinic - every other Wednesday
