Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics

WELCOME TO DBP! We look forward to working with you this block!

Please see the general Goals and Objectives for the rotation. You will receive an individualized schedule for the month. Clinics are a mixture of telehealth and in person evaluations. April Perez-Moore will be your faculty lead for this block!

Rotation specific Pediatric Milestones:

1) Humanism & communication: Demonstrate humanism, compassion, integrity, and respect for others based on the characteristics of an empathic practitioner.

2) Medical knowledge: Demonstrate knowledge of normal development, neurodevelopmental disorders and patient care coordination within the health system that is relevant to DBP.

Evaluation and Feedback

The following will be formally evaluated on the DBP rotation:

  • Participation in the evaluations, discussions, showing up on time, and professionalism
  • Completion of the Vanderbilt TRIAD Portal: https://vkc.vumc.org/vkc/triad/provider-portal/
    • Please review the following sections:
      • “Brief Online Modules to Increase Autism-Specific Clinical Skills” & “ASD in Primary Care Education (ASD-PRIME)” (2hr online module)
        • Click “Launch the training here” and follow directions listed on pdf to create a login and access the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center “My Courses” section
          • “TRIAD Resources and Trainings” & “Introduction to Autism Spectrum Disorders”
          • “ASD-PRIME: Autism Spectrum Disorder in Primary Care Education”
        • ‘Resources and Additional Supports for Diagnostic Decision Making” (list of resources for DBP clinic)
