Dr. Johanna Seddon Honored as Guest Lecturer at Mount Sinai, New York
Date Posted: Tuesday, November 12, 2019Dr. Johanna M. Seddon, MD, ScM, presented the Joseph B. Walsh, MD, Memorial Retina Lecture at the Department of Ophthalmology, New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, during their Transformational Ophthalmology Symposium on November 9, 2019. As invited guest speaker, she presented two talks: Age-Related Macular Degeneration: Nurture-Nutrition and Lifestyles, and Nature-Genes, Prediction and Precision Medicine.
Her talks summarized results of her epidemiologic and genetic research over several decades, including recent work published in 2019. She was presented with the award after her presentations (see photo). Dr. Seddon is Professor of Ophthalmology at the UMass Chan Medical School, and Director of Retina and Director of the Macular Degeneration Center of Excellence in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.
