Eye Center’s Families Get Together to Celebrate the End of Summer

Eye Team families got together on Sunday morning at Dean Park in Shrewsbury to celebrate the end of summer. Eye team members brought along their loved ones: spouses, children, significant others, and pets to share a fun memorable morning together. It was a terrific team-building event.

In a breathtaking corn hole tournament, Eye Team members dazzled the crowd with their aiming skills. The winning team was undefeated. Manisha Anand turned the corn hole boards into Eye Center themed works of art, and Darlene Bocash-Winn decorated the red and blue bags with Eye Center logos. Sharon Furbish gets the credit for the superb organization of this beautiful day.

Eye Team families enjoyed the opportunity to spend quality time together at a beautiful outdoors scenery on a gorgeous sunny day. Everyone brought their favorite food items that included special cuisines from around the globe. “This special event was a rare opportunity for all of us to take a break from our regular busy, rushed routines and get to know our co-workers better”, said Dr. Schaal, Chair of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences.

“When I met the families, it gave me a different perspective of the person who works with me every day, it’s wonderful to get such an opportunity and I am grateful for everyone who attended this event. I appreciate the fact that families provide support to our healthcare givers and without this support our job would be incredibly difficult.”
