The Eye Center Welcomes Dr. Juan Ding
Date Posted: Monday, October 16, 2017Juan Ding, OD, PhD, has recently joined the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences at UMass as an optometrist and faculty member. Dr. Ding will work on screening diabetic eye diseases at the Diabetes Center at the Ambulatory Care Center, as well as providing optometric services at the Eye Center including refraction, contact lenses, and comprehensive eye exams to adults and pediatric patients. She will also facilitate the Ophthalmology Consult Service within the UMass Memorial Medical Center.
Dr. Ding received her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Ohio University, Athens, OH; and OD from The New England College of Optometry, Boston, MA. Prior to working at UMass, Dr. Ding completed a post-doctoral research fellowship specializing in dry eye disease at Schepens Eye Research Institute (SERI) /Massachusetts Eye and Ear (MEE) of Harvard Medical School, before becoming Investigator at SERI and Instructor in Ophthalmology at MEE/Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Ding looks forward to serving the diabetic patients, as well as the general adult and pediatric populations around the UMass area.
