GLOBAL OUTREACH

Several members of the faculty from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology have been on a number of global outreach and missionary excursions over the years. These trips were undertaken to bring care and assistance to many underserved or disaster-stricken areas of the world.  Teaching healthcare providers in these regions has also been the goal of many trips. Most recently, our faculty have established relationships for global health work in both Rwanda and Kenya with yearly travel that could include fellowship participation if desired.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Many faculty and staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology participate in community outreach activities. Resident physicians and fellows have joined and contributed to Worcester Healthy Baby Collaborative activities. Diaper Drives, team walk activities are sponsored by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Recently, the department participated in a Community Baby Shower to connect expecting families in need with subject matter experts on prenatal care, lactation, childbirth and postpartum health with an effort to reduce the gap in accessible prenatal care.
