Diversity survey to measure institutional climate

Got a few minutes to help evaluate UMass Medical School’s diversity climate?

The 2020 UMMS Diversity Engagement Survey is being emailed to all members of the UMMS community on Sept. 10 and Medical School leaders are urging people to participate by the Sept. 25 deadline. Participation is open to all faculty, students, staff, residents and postdoctoral scholars as well as all who work at Commonwealth Medicine and MassBiologics.

Completing the online survey takes less than 10 minutes.

The Diversity Engagement Survey, administered every three years in partnership with the Association of American Medical Colleges, is a tool to measure institutional climate and culture through the lens of diversity and inclusion, and to measure the institution’s capacity and capabilities to include diverse groups as fully engaged members of the academic community. It will be analyzed using academic medical center benchmark data by DataStar, Inc., a leading provider of survey management, data processing and tabulation services to researchers.

Part 2 of the survey seeks demographic information that helps UMMS to evaluate its diversity strategic plan.

Responses will be reported in aggregate form, will not be provided to any unauthorized parties and will not contain any information that would permit identification of an individual.
