UMass Medical School is today launching the podcast, Voices of UMassMed, featuring an interview with Chancellor Michael F. Collins, as the academic year begins. The podcast, produced by the Office of Communications, will spotlight members of the UMMS community.
In the episode, Chancellor Collins welcomes the Class of 2020 and reflects on his own first day of medical school.
“When I stand there and look at them and say, ‘Wow, here you are to fulfill your dream of becoming a physician,’ I get really excited,” Collins said in the podcast. “I remember that first day. For me it was at Tufts Medical School, sitting toward the back of the room. So, for me, I always do look at the back to see who sits there and think with great anticipation of what it meant, finally the dream coming true of getting the chance to go to medical school.”
