UMass Chan alumna recognized by Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education

UMass Medical School alumna Navine Nasser-Ghodsi, MD, has been recognized by the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education as an outstanding internal medicine resident.

Dr. Nasser-Ghodsi, a 2015 graduate of the School of Medicine, is one of four members of the graduating internal medicine class chosen to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award based on clinical competency, professionalism, scholarly activity and contributions to the residency program.

“Dr. Nasser-Ghodsi has performed in an outstanding manner throughout her training and has been recognized for her fund of knowledge, empathy, dedication to patients, professionalism, teamwork and skills in communication even with the most challenging patients,” according to a letter from faculty associated with the Mayo Clinic internal residency program and the Department of Medicine. Associate Director of Internal Medicine Residency Denise M. Dupras, MD, PhD; Residency Program Director and Department of Medicine Associate Chair Amy S. Oxentenko, MD; and Department of Medicine Chair Amy W. Williams, MD, said that Nasser-Ghodsi’s performance in the past couple of years is a direct reflection of the outstanding undergraduate medical education she received at UMMS.

Additionally, Nasser-Ghodsi has engaged in research that has produced two publications and four presentations.
