The headache program provides state-of-the-art multidisciplinary care and patient services through our partnership with the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus at 55 Lake Avenue North, Worcester, MA 01655. Our Headache Clinic is in the Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis Center and is designed to address many aspects of a patient's illness and life well beyond a disease.

New patient appointments are scheduled through the Neurology call center at (508) 793-6555.

Symptoms patients receive treatments for include, but are not limited to:
-Cervicogenic headaches –reducing the pain in the neck or face
-Chronic headaches – reducing the frequency of headache relapses
-Cluster headaches – lessening the intensity and occurrence of clustered headache symptoms
-Headaches and Hormones, including pregnancy
-IIH
-Low CSF headaches
-Lumbar puncture headaches
-Migraines (with aura) - impacting vision, speech, and other senses
-Occipital neuralgia – treating throbbing pain in the neck, back of the head, or ears
-Primary Exertion headaches
-Pseudotumor cerebri – due to pressure in the skull
-Primary Exertion headaches
-Refractory headaches – determining treatment alternatives for hard-to-treat headaches
-Tension headaches
-Throbbing or stabbing headaches
-Trigeminal neuralgia – relieving the painful sensations on the face
-Vestibular Migraine

Appointment Information
New patients typically spend approximately 60 minutes with the neurologist. Subsequent visits are 30 minutes with the neurologist or nurse practitioner.
Evaluation includes a review of medical history. New patients, please bring results from previous neurological testing or examinations including copies of MRI discs, any previous spinal tap results, and all related doctors' notes.
Patients have found it helpful to prepare their own written history of symptoms experienced with questions to discuss during the appointment.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment, allowing time for basic neurologic testing before you meet with the physician or nurse practitioner.
It is important for you to be seen, heard, and feel understood in discussing your symptoms and concerns.
Preparing for Your First Visit
Parking is available for an hourly fee in the patient/visitor parking lot on South Road. Valet parking and handicapped parking are available for a flat fee in two locations. Remillard Family Pavillion (main entrance) - 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
