Patient and Family Resources

Over the course of decades, our team of doctors has created a reputable Comprehensive Care center. We address many aspects of a patient’s illness and life well beyond the disease itself. Along with our clinical services, we are also actively involved in community education programs, as well as providing educational opportunities for medical students, residents and fellows.

The Neuroimmunology and MS Clinic provides state of the art multidisciplinary care and patient services through our partnership with the UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus at 55 Lake Avenue North, Worcester, MA 01655. Our Comprehensive Care Clinic is designed to address many aspects of a patient's illness and life well beyond a disease.

For patients interested in participating in clinical trials and other research projects please contact our research coordinators, Aurelie Martin-Puig aurelie.martinpuig@umassmemorial.org or Mugdha Deshpande mugdha.deshpande@umassmemorial.org

New patients, and those seeking second opinions may receive neurological diagnostic evaluations with our multidisciplinary support team to aid the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatments of Multiple Sclerosis and other neuro-immunological diseases.

Symptoms patients receive treatments for include, but are not limited to:

  • depression
  • fatigue
  • stress
  • sleep disorders
  • headaches
  • bowel/bladder control
  • cognitive strength
  • mobility impairments

New patient appointments are scheduled through the Neurology call center at (508) 793-6555.

Appointment Information

New patients typically spend approximately 60 - 80 minutes with the neurologist.

Evaluation includes a review of medical history. New patients, please bring results from previous neurological testing or examinations including copies of MRI discs, any previous spinal tap results, and all related doctors' notes.

You matter! It is important for you to feel seen, be heard, and feel understood when discussing your symptoms and concerns with the neurologist. Patients have found it helpful to prepare their own written history of symptoms experienced with questions to discuss during the appointment.

Subsequent visits are 30 - 45 minutes with the neurologist or nurse practitioner.

New and existing patients should arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled appointment, allowing time for basic neurologic testing before you meet with the physician or nurse practitioner. To help our team monitor your neurologic status, each visit will consist of you performing:

  • a timed walking test
  • a timed hand coordination test
  • a brief cognition test
  • a self-assessment on your fatigue and quality of life measures

Parking is available for an hourly fee in the patient/visitor parking lot on South Road. Valet parking and handicapped parking are available for a flat fee in two locations.
