Dr. Shlomit Schaal Named to Board of Governors for UMass Memorial Medical Group

Shlomit Schaal, MD, PhD, chair, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at UMass Memorial Medical Center, was recently appointed as chair of the UMass Memorial Medical Group Board of Governors by the UMass Memorial Health Care Board of Trustees.

In this role, Dr. Schaal will be responsible for the provision of all medical services delivered through the Medical Group, consistent with quality goals approved by the Board of Trustees. As chair of the Board of Governors, Dr. Schaal will keep the Medical Group’s Board of Trustees informed and will provide the board with any recommendations of the Board of Governors.
