Instructional Design and Curriculum Renovation
Instructional design is a systematic process to create, deliver and evaluate learning solutions that are intended to address learning needs. Depending on the specific context, a learning solution may take various forms: traditional, blended or online courses, educational videos, workshops, and simulations. While academic technology provides valuable tools to enhance the learning experience, instructional design drives the use of this technology.
At UMass Chan Medical School, we are following an agile instructional design process (Analysis, Prototyping, Development, and Rollout) that is flexible and continuously improved. Design Thinking is at the core of our instructional design work, which allows us to strategize with our customers on their needs and requirements. Our team-based approach with faculty and students focuses on human-centered needs and design processes that advance the changing landscape of medical education.
