Statement of Lab Norms / Values

We encourage all faculty to formally develop a statement of lab norms and/or values to share with their trainees and lab members. It can be helpful to discuss the expectations of both you and your lab members outlined in this statement regularly (e.g. annually). This is something that younger generations of scientists in particular tend to explicitly value and look for when choosing a lab to join. If you're interested in writing such a statement but don't know where to start, contact the Outreach Office and they can help you find suitable resources. As a reference, the department has a culture statement here (always underline your links - this is an accessibility issue).
