UMass Chan Medical School Fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry
General Information
- For positions starting July 1, 2024, and per AAPL ADFPF agreement:
- Interviews start on September 1, 2023, on a rolling basis
- No offers until September 21, 2023
- No binding offers until November 1, 2023
- Start Date: flexible a case by case basis
- Visa sponsorship: J1 (and possibly H1b).
Application Requirements
- (1) Satisfy the following:
- Applicants must have at least completed the requirements of an ACGME accredited general psychiatry residency at the time of start of the fellowship year.
- Applicants must have a full Massachusetts medical license by the start date of fellowship.

- (2) Documents to send:
- General application form
(AAPL application guidelines, common application checklist) - Three letters of recommendation (including one from the program director), sent directly from the individual who completed the letter.
- Two redacted writing samples (preferably at least one forensic report, but could also include a discharge summary, admission assessment, or journal article)
- Personal statement (one page)
- USMLE scores, and USMLE certificate when applicable
- Medical diploma
- General application form
